Introduction
I served in the United States Submarine Force from 1977 until 1994. I qualified for my dolphins in June 1978 onboard USS George Bancroft (SSBN 643 Blue). I am still intensely interested in submarines and find them fascinating to this day!
USS Thresher (SSN 593)
In April, 1963, the Navy lost the USS Thresher while performing operational tests. The following is a memorial page dedicated to the 129 officers, men, and civilians lost at sea that dreadful day.
